Welcome to the official website of A.F.C Kingston Youth.
Formed in 2017 by the director of a local sports coaching company and the coach of a grassroots team fed up of hearing horror stories from the children they worked with about poorly run football clubs, a vision of creating a club with a difference.
Unlike almost all other local football clubs ours has a 100% use of professional coaches policy, not just FA/UEFA qualified but true professionals who work in sports coaching/teaching full time. Our current workforce boasts p.e teachers, sports coaches, sports development managers and a wealth of knowledge, experience, qualifications alongside an unquestionable passion for the development of the children within our club.
Our first season 2017/18 saw the formation of four teams (under 7s, 8s x 2 and u12s), 33 children enjoyed weekly sessions delivered from an age specific curriculum aimed at maximising player development. Our teams competed in the Epsom & Ewell Youth League on Saturday mornings: that season we won the premier division at u12s, won the cup at u8s and came cup runners up at u12s all at the first time of asking. Far beyond the achievement of winning trophies we helped all 33 children progress individually not only as footballers but also as young people.
2018/19 was our second season, we grew from 33 players in four teams to 64 players in six teams (under 7s, 8s, 9s x2, 10s and 13s). Again our club players were at the heart of everything we did. Over 200 hours of coaching took place during the season and we continued to raise the standard of grassroots football locally with our now familiar style of play visible for all to see. Our players are fearless, creative and actively seek the ball out using football intelligence and a hint of childhood innocence to weave their way through a truly memorable grassroots footballing experience. The newly formed u10s reached a cup semi final within their first season. Our only competitive team the u13s played Surrey Youth League premier division standard alongside some of the County’s most established teams and more than held their own.
2019/20 and our third season in existence, 64 players in six teams became 102 players in ten teams as we continued to grow rapidly. Now training across two evenings a week and playing matches on both Saturdays and Sundays at three venues we are much larger than we were three years ago. Achievements on the field continue with cup runs and top division sides becoming the norm. We also saw several club players scouted by academy teams including Chelsea, Fulham, Crystal Palace and AFC Wimbledon.
Now on the verge of our fourth season and preparing to have 150+ players across thirteen teams…
Keep watching as we strive to raise the standard of grassroots football.
